Our Team
Aaron LevereAaron has been with the firm since 2007 as the historical research and document manager for the firm’s litigation and research files. Aaron conducted his Masters research in Aboriginal self-government and Aboriginal and Treaty rights under the supervision of Dr. Peter Kulchyski, and came to the firm with prior research project experience in Aboriginal self-government models. Aaron’s professional experience has included extensive archival and document management of Crown and First Nations litigation documents, historical research including Hudson’s Bay Archives, House of Commons and Senate and standing committee minutes, traders and missionary journals and records, academic research on current literature in the field of native studies, anthropology and history in respect of Aboriginal claims and research. This research includes on-site interviews, archival visits and document review. His work also includes coordination and liaison with experts involved with the firm’s clients. Lastly his work includes research and writing on background information and current developments as required on various matters including hydro and resource development, First Nations constitutions, and law-making. Aaron volunteers as an editor and board member at Geez Magazine. Aaron graduated from the University of Victoria (B.A. Honours with distinction), and completed his M.A. in Native Studies at the University of Manitoba in 2009. Aaron was influenced by completing the five week land-based program in the Arctic community of Pangnirtung, Nunavut through the University of Manitoba. Originally from Victoria, BC Aaron now lives in Winnipeg with his wife, Jana and son, Oliver. |
